Local authorities report that a passenger on a motorcycle who was participating in Sunday's Christmas Toys in the Sun Run had to be taken to the hospital after suffering major injuries when two motorcycles crashed.
In total, police reported that four people suffered injuries during themotorcycle accident. None of the drivers or passengers were wearing helmets said the Florida Highway Patrol.
Police say that 33-year-old Lidieth Gil was thrown from a bike after another motorcycle that was part of the parade struck her from behind. She was taken to North Broward Medical Center in Pompano Beach following the collision.
The driver of the motorcycle, 58-year-old Edward Contreras also suffered injuries and was taken to the same hospital, but his injuries were allegedly minor.
