In Tampa, Florida, rescuers report that they had to pull an unconscious man out of the Tampa Bay. The man, 51 year old Allen M. Biggs, had been on his boat when it capsized near the Howard Frankland Bridge.
After being pulled from the water by rescuers, Biggs was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he received treatment for his serious injuries. Gary Morse, a spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said that Biggs was in critical condition.
The Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Coast Guard, Tampa Police divers and the Pinellas County Sheriff's office all worked together to search for other survivors from the boat accident for three hours before Biggs regained consciousness and informed authorities that he had been alone on his 28 foot boat.
The boat has not yet been recovered, so officials are still unclear as to what may have caused it to capsize.
