A young woman indicted last week after throwing her baby out of a second-floor window shortly after giving birth. Eva Flores, 18, pleaded not guilty to her charges at an arraignment hearing last month. The young woman's attorney told the court that Flores was raped in her home country of El Salvador and hid her pregnancy while in the United States. Flores said that her assailant threatened to kill her relatives and her if she told police about the attack.
However she is still facing charges of wanton and reckless endangerment of a child along with assault and battery on a child causing serious injury. The judge hearing her case has set her bond at $10,000 at the Suffolk Superior Court.
A neighbor who heard the baby crying is responsible for alerting the authorities about Flores'crime.
