Recently, a second government body decided to reject a wrongful death claim that was filed by the parents of a teenager who tragically drowned during the summer months.
On Tuesday evening, a unanimous decision was reached by the Chippewa County Board. Last November, a similar decision was made by the Lafayette Board which decided to reject an identical wrongful death lawsuit.
In July, 16-year-old Justin Buss was swinging on a rope swing over a local creek when he died. Police investigating the accident say he crashed into a cliff and fell into the water at a public access point.
Reports indicate that Buss' parents will receive a notice of the recent decision and they will have a time period of six months to decide whether or not they will move forward with suing the county.
