In the city of Hernando, preliminary reports from police indicate that a young motorcyclist may have lost his life after losing control of his vehicle this past weekend.
The Florida Highway Patrol says that 19-year-old Joshua Brown had been riding his motorcycle northbound on Pinehurst Drive at 3:20 AM. While operating his motorcycle, police have reason to believe that he was driving 30 mph past the speed limit.
Officers say that he lost control of his motorcycle, went across the southbound lane of Pinehurst Drive and onto the northwest corner of an intersection. Then, his bike hit a tree on the property that was located on Pinehurst which caused him to be ejected from his motorcycle.
