After being seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Alaska, the victim has been transported to a hospital near his home in Sarasota, Florida.
The victim, a former governor, was north of the Arctic Circle and heading back to Fairbanks when he hit a gravel patch. He was unable to regain control of his bike and laid his motorcycle down on the roadway after losing control. Unable to move, he was later discovered by two men traveling down the same road who brought him to a Fairbanks Hospital.
While the former governor was wearing a helmet at the time, he suffered other serious injuries, including bleeding around the kidneys and broken ribs. He was moved by medical air transport from Alaska to Florida where he owns a condominium with his wife.
