This it week it was reported that a professor was out for his morning bicycle ride in Atlanta when a driver struck and killed him.
Police reports show that the victim, a 33-year-old a professor at Georgia Tech, was riding his bike on U.S. 98 along the shoulder when he was struck by a Mercedes Benz. Witnesses saw the car heading east on the highway, strike the back of the bicycle, and then stop. It was later revealed that the driver of the car was a 19-year-old female.
Although the victim was wearing a helmet at the time, his injuries were too extensive. He died later that day at Sacred Heart Hospital. Reports show that he was an assistant professor at Georgia Tech who taught Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.
