A woman finds herself in the hospital in St. Petersburg after becoming involved in a bicycle accident last week.
According to police reports, Amanda Lynn Caneal, 30, was going northbound on 49th Street N. on her bike when a Mercury, driven by 24-year-old William Sabol, struck her with his front bumper. Caneal was then thrown off of her bike onto the pavement. Emergency responders arrived quickly to transport her to Bayfront Medical Center. She was listed as being in critical condition at that time.
Although police are still investigating the crash, they have ruled out alcohol as a determining factor.
