A 60-year-old bicyclist has died after crashing his bike into the concrete barrier of an interstate exit ramp, falling over the edge, and plummeting 35 feet to his death. The state troopers who are investigating the accident are puzzled by the circumstances. The officer in charge says that it's the first crash scene of this nature that he has seen in his 21 years on the job. Investigators are currently looking into whether or not the man was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the accident occurred.
The 60-year-old man evidently got on to the exit ramp, crossed the exit lane, and crashed into the protective barrier on the opposite side. He fell over the edge of the ramp and died upon hitting the ground.
Earlier that day the man had been watching a football game with family when he got up and left without a word at halftime. According to his family members, the bike rider was a healthy man who loved life and rode his bike whenever possible instead of driving places. He is survived by two sons, a sister, and two brothers.
