One man was killed and several more injured in an airboat accident last week. Now, news sources say that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is currently looking into the incident along with local officials. The boat accident took place last Tuesday morning. The vessel was being operated by P.H.T. on the Rodman Reservoir. He was taking his friend, 50-year-old R.A., fishing that day. According to testimony provided by the friend, who survived the accident, the men launched early in the morning and made it about half a mile into the reservoir when the accident took place. The airboat took a sharp right turn and flipped, ejecting both men.
The survivor was wearing a life vest, which kept him afloat while he held onto his friend. Luckily, someone in a canoe was nearby and heard the men's cries for help. The victim was declared dead on the scene shortly after getting back to shore. Officers are still investigating the boat accident and searching for the sunken vessel to gather additional evidence.
