Several shoppers in a Florida grocery store were injured when an experimental plane crashed into the building. The single-engine plane caught on fire, sending a fireball into some of the aisles of the store. Although police are still investigating the details of the crash, it appears as though the plane was experiencing technical difficulties well before hurtling into the store. The scene inside the store was described as chaotic with at least 100 customers and store personnel rushing for the exits. At one point the ceiling collapsed sending flames towards the front entrance.
The pilot and the passenger have both been listed in critical condition. At least two shoppers were brought to area hospitals with serious injuries. At this time, it is uncertain whether any of the victims will pursue a personal injury lawsuit. If they do, it will be their responsibility to prove that negligence contributed to the major accident.
