The last thing you should do after causing a car accident is to leave the scene. That is exactly what one man did last week and he could be punished seriously for it.
According to the police report, the former NBA player was driving his large SUV when he lost control of the vehicle. He crashed into two trees and then decided to run away. When officers identified him as the driver based on his license plates, they were able to locate him at home.
By that time the former basketball star had an excuse ready. He said that one of the wheels had blown while he was driving, ultimately causing the accident. While this turned out to be true, all four tires had been blown out. Police believe that his apparent intoxication had something to do with the accident as well. He was just charge with causing property damage over $50, however.
